Joke

While the public eye is glued on the national broadband network (NBN) issue...while the Filipinos are worried and disheartened over the political upheaval spawned by accusations of corruption against never-President, her husband, and their accomplices, Imelda Marcos, wife of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, offered us a chance to laugh...momentarily.

A while ago I got the chance to browse the papers, and I read an article about her latest chitchat with the media. Only God knows what has happened to her. She said..."Everyone wants to know about the truth...Now let us talk about the truth---the truth that will solve the country's problem in poverty. It's very simple. Let the Marcos truth prevail, and no Filipino will be poor in two years."

If you want to know what this "Marcos truth" is, well, she explained that it is about the Marcoses as "NOT thieves. The the "Marcoses did not steal from the Filipino people". Duh.

It makes me want to scream, "ano raw?!" (what is she saying?!, with a look of disgust). But nah, after all, she gave me a chance to laugh. In the country's rather dark moment, she has offered the funniest joke by far.
